Risk-E is has been developed by Tony Dent of CMRGroup.com Ltd and Iain MacKay of Computable Functions Ltd.
CMRGroup provide a range of support services to marketing and research companies and are best known through their subsidiary company, Sample Answers Ltd. Sample Answers are authorised re-sellers for Risk-E.
Tony Dent
Tony Dent is a statistician with over 35 years market research experience and is currently chairman of both CMRGroup and Sample Answers.
Starting with the MIL Group of companies (now part of GfK/NOP) in 1968 he was quickly appointed as managing director of Industrial Data Limited, where he was one of the pioneers of business to business telephone research firstly in the UK and then conducting projects throughout Europe and elsewhere from 1972 onwards.
Tony has acted as a consultant to a number of companies, including the Civil Aviation Authority, DHL, DTI, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Radio Free Europe, and the Xerox Corporation.
Tony is also experienced with many research techniques, first coming across conjoint in 1972 in Chicago at a visit to Market Facts that year.
Tony is a member of ESOMAR and the MRS, and has presented several papers on research-related issues at professional meetings.
Iain MacKay
Iain MacKay is a software developer who has specialised in the market research area for over 30 years.
In 1975, After graduating from Cambridge University in Computer Science Iain worked as a senior programmer at leading timesharing bureau CRC before joining Pulse Train Technology (now Pulse Train) as a founder in 1976.
Iain was Development Director and then Technical Director at Pulse Train during the 80s and 90s and led the development of the company's principal software products, Bellview and STAR.
In 2000 Iain left Pulse Train to found the independent consultancy Computable Functions Limited with another Pulse Train veteran Geoff Wright.
Computable Functions specialise in open-standards based approaches to software development and data processing.
Iain is a member of ESOMAR and the MRS, and has presented several papers on software-related issues at ESOMAR meetings.
